Pueblos Vivos: Combating Rural Depopulation in Aragón
Leading organisation
Within the challenge of combating depopulation, the Pueblos Vivos project has emerged, facilitating the settlement of new residents in seven Aragonese regions. Driven by a coalition of action groups and a collaborative approach, this LEADER project is redefining the role of its communities, implementing a comprehensive strategy to jointly and actively work for the future of their towns. The project has engaged more than 300 participants, assisted over 2,500 applicants, and published around 200 job offers. Sixty-nine families have settled in the participating regions (report period: 2019–2022), 58 of them in Somontano.
