Rural Parliament of Estonia: Strengthening Grassroots Democracy and Rural Development
Leading organisation
The Rural Parliament of Estonia, organized by the Estonian Rural Movement “Kodukant” since 1996, is a key platform for rural communities to shape national policies and promote regional development. It is held every two years in a different county and brings together village representatives, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss urgent rural issues and propose solutions. The event includes study visits, workshops, and plenary debates, culminating in a collective action plan outlining priorities for rural Estonia.
